These hand painted statement earrings will quickly become one of your favorite accessories! Each encaustic earring is unique, unbelievably lightweight, and earth friendly. Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the bark and fused with a torch.
For length and width, please see the photo. The right and left earring weighs 0.2 oz each. Approximately the weight of 2 pennies.
The bark was salvaged locally from fallen trees. Each piece has been cut, sanded by hand and reinforced with wood glue.
These earrings are finished with resin which provides durability and a glossy finish.
The hardware is nickel and lead free and hypoallergenic. It is strongly encouraged to wear the backings provided so an earring does not fall out.
