This encaustic wall art is unique and earth friendly! Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the wood and fused with a torch.
This abstract art has several layers of encaustic medium used to create highly textured and smooth areas. The sides are painted blue with visible drips. This piece measures approximately 23 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and 1 inch deep. Wire hanger on back for easy hanging.
The wood substrate used in this piece was salvaged from a local cabinet company dumpster.
Care of encaustic art:
Gently wipe every 3 months with a soft cotton cloth to dust and restore shine. Do not place in direct sunlight or store in extremely hot (hot car) or cold temperatures (garage in winter). Do not place it outside.
