This encaustic wall art is unique and earth friendly! Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the wood and fused with a torch.
This piece features a home that is created out of paper, cloth, and lace imbedded into the encaustic medium. This was one of the first pieces of art I created in 2016. It is created on a wood panel. This piece measures approximately 10 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 1.5 inch deep. The sides are painted deep brown with drips visible in some areas. No hanger is attached to the back of the canvas.
Care of encaustic art:
Gently wipe every 3 months with a soft cotton cloth to dust and restore shine. Do not place in direct sunlight or store in extremely hot (hot car) or cold temperatures (garage in winter). Do not place it outside.
