Sunflowers on Birch Encaustic Earrings

These earrings will quickly become one of your favorite accessories! Each hand painted encaustic earring is unique, lightweight, and earth friendly. Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the bark and fused with a torch. 

For length and width, please see the photo. These encaustic earrings feature sunflowers on birch bark. 

The birch bark was salvaged locally from fallen trees. Each piece has been cut, sanded, and flattened by hand and the back has been reinforced with wood glue.

These earrings not melt up to 150 degrees. They are finished with resin which provides durability and a glossy finish.

The hardware is nickel and lead free and hypoallergenic. It is strongly encouraged to wear the backings provided so an earring does not fall out.
